Privacy Policy

Jigsaw Puzzle by Srchout Software · Effective 18 October 2026

The short version

  • No account, no sign-up. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number.
  • Your progress, points and settings stay on your device. Uninstalling the app or using Reset all progress deletes them.
  • The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before showing personalised ads.
  • We use Google Firebase to count how the game is played and to receive crash reports.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • You can ask us to delete data at any time: see Delete your data.

1. Who we are

This policy explains what information the Jigsaw Puzzle app ("the app") collects, why, and the choices you have. The app does not ask you to create an account and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or contacts.

The app is made by Srchout Software ("we", "us", "our"). We are responsible for the information described in this policy. This policy covers the Jigsaw Puzzle app for Android and iPhone and this website's pages about the app. The website itself uses no cookies, analytics or tracking.

2. Information stored only on your device

Your puzzle progress, points, rank, hints and settings (such as sound and vibration) are saved on your device so you can continue where you left off. This information is not sent to us. Uninstalling the app or using "Reset all progress" deletes it.

The app also keeps on your device:

  • the state of a puzzle you leave part-way through, so you can carry on later;
  • copies of puzzle pictures you have downloaded, so they load quickly and use less data next time;
  • whether you have accepted the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and your ad consent choice (stored by Google's consent tool).

3. Information collected automatically

When you use the app, the following information is collected by the service providers named below. None of it includes your name, email address or phone number.

InformationCollected byWhy
Advertising ID (Android). On iPhone the app does not ask for permission to track, so the iPhone advertising identifier is not used.Google AdMob, Google FirebaseTo show, limit and measure ads, prevent fraud, and (only with consent where required) personalise ads.
IP address and approximate location (country or region) derived from itGoogle AdMob, Google Firebase, our image server (Cloudflare)To deliver ads and puzzle pictures, measure usage by country, and prevent fraud.
Device and app information: device model, operating system and version, app version, language and screen sizeGoogle AdMob, Google FirebaseTo show ads that fit your device, and to understand which devices the app needs to support.
Game activity: screens viewed, levels and Daily Puzzles started and finished, puzzle restarts, hints used and rewarded hints earned, with the puzzle's number and typeGoogle Firebase AnalyticsTo understand how the game is played so we can improve levels, hints and difficulty.
App instance identifier (a random ID created when the app is installed)Google FirebaseTo count installs and sessions without knowing who you are.
Crash logs and diagnostics: what the app was doing when it crashed, device and app detailsGoogle Firebase CrashlyticsTo find and fix bugs.
Ad interactions: which ads were shown, viewed or tapped, and whether a rewarded ad was watched to the endGoogle AdMobTo show and measure ads and grant rewards.

4. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The app is free and shows ads provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from the IP address, device and app information, and how you interact with ads. Where the law requires it (for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), the app asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, and you can change your choice at any time under Me → Ad privacy settings. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.

The consent message is provided by Google's User Messaging Platform. If you do not consent to personalised ads, you may still see non-personalised ads, which are based on general information such as the app you are using and your approximate location rather than your interests. The Ad privacy settings option appears in the Me tab wherever the law requires a way to change your choice.

You can also control ads in your device settings:

  • Android: open Settings → Google → Ads (on some phones, Settings → Security & privacy → Privacy → Ads) to reset or delete your advertising ID. On newer Android versions you can also manage ad topics and ad measurement there.
  • iPhone: the app does not ask to track you. You can review tracking settings for all apps in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

5. Analytics and crash reports (Google Firebase)

The app uses Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used (for example which levels are started and completed and whether hints are used) and Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports so we can fix problems. This data includes an app instance identifier, device model, operating system version, app version and usage or crash details. It is not used to identify you personally.

The game activity we record is listed in section 3. We do not record what you type, your contacts, your photos or your precise location. Analytics and crash reporting currently run in the Android version of the app; if we add them to the iPhone version, this section applies to it in the same way.

6. Puzzle pictures and content delivery

Puzzle pictures are downloaded from our image server, which is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web server, it receives your IP address and basic technical information about the request (such as the time and the picture requested) so it can send the picture to your device. We do not use this to identify you, and we do not combine it with other information.

The app is also set up to use Supabase, a backend service, for game content. We do not send or store personal information there.

7. Rewards for watching ads

If you choose to watch a rewarded ad (for example to get a free hint), the app only records on your device that the reward was earned.

Watching rewarded ads is always optional. Google AdMob receives the ad interaction information described in section 4.

8. Ratings, links and contacting us

  • Rate this app opens the app's page in Google Play or the App Store. Any rating or review you leave is handled by that store under its own privacy policy.
  • Terms of use and Privacy policy open these pages in your web browser.
  • Contact support opens your email app. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you and keep it only as long as needed to help you.

9. App permissions

The app does not ask for access to your camera, microphone, photos, contacts or location. On Android it uses these standard permissions, which do not show a pop-up:

  • Internet and network state: to download puzzle pictures and show ads.
  • Advertising ID and ad services: used by Google AdMob as described in section 4.
  • Install referrer, wake lock and foreground service: used by Google's libraries to measure installs and send analytics reliably.

On iPhone the app asks for no special permissions.

10. How we use information

We use the information described above only to:

  • run the game and save your progress on your device;
  • show ads, including rewarded ads, which keep the app free;
  • understand how the game is played and improve it;
  • find and fix crashes and bugs;
  • prevent fraud and abuse, including invalid ad activity;
  • reply to you when you contact us;
  • comply with the law.

We do not use the information to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

11. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers named above (Google AdMob and Google Firebase), who process it under their own privacy policies, or where required by law.

The service providers involved are:

If Srchout Software is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of the app, information may be transferred as part of that deal, and this policy will continue to apply to it.

Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies, we rely on your consent to show personalised ads, and on our legitimate interests in providing, securing and improving the app for analytics, crash reports and non-personalised ads. We may also process information where the law requires it. You can withdraw your consent to personalised ads at any time under Me → Ad privacy settings.

13. International transfers

Google may process the information described above in countries other than the one you live in, including the United States. Google uses safeguards recognised by law for these transfers, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Cloudflare and Supabase may also process information outside your country and use similar safeguards.

14. Security

Information sent to Google AdMob and Google Firebase is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Information stored on your device is kept in the app's private storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect information handled by the app.

Puzzle pictures are also downloaded over encrypted connections. Only people who need access to run the app can see our analytics and crash reports.

15. Data retention and deletion

Data stored on your device stays there until you delete it or uninstall the app. Analytics and crash data are kept by Google for the periods set in Firebase. To ask about or request deletion of data associated with your device, contact us at the address below.

Step-by-step instructions are on our Delete your data page. We respond to deletion requests within 30 days.

  • On your device: until you use Reset all progress or uninstall the app.
  • Firebase Analytics: user-level data is kept for the retention period set in our Firebase project (2 months by default) and then deleted automatically. Totals that cannot identify a device may be kept longer.
  • Firebase Crashlytics: crash reports are kept for 90 days.
  • Google AdMob: kept by Google as described in the Google retention policy.
  • Emails to us: only as long as needed to help you.

16. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.

17. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal information, or to object to or limit its use. Contact us to exercise these rights.

If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising except through the Google AdMob ads described above, which you can limit under Me → Ad privacy settings and in your device's ad settings.

Because the app has no accounts, we may ask for details such as your device model and roughly when you used the app so we can find the right data. We reply within 30 days and do not charge for requests.

18. Your choices at a glance

  • Change ad consent: Me → Ad privacy settings (where available).
  • Reset or delete your advertising ID: in your device settings (see section 4).
  • Delete your progress: Me → Reset all progress, or uninstall the app.
  • Delete analytics and crash data: see Delete your data.
  • Turn sound or vibration off: in the Me tab.

19. Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date above shows when it last changed.

The latest version is always on this page. If we make significant changes to how the app handles information, we will explain them here before they take effect.
